What is Jarro-Dophilus EPS from Jarrow Formulas?
This product from Jarrow Formulas is a probiotic consisting of 8 different lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus, Pediococcus and Bifidobacterium. Included are:
- Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus R0011
- Lactobacillus helveticus R0052
- Pediococcus acidilactici R1001
- Lacticaseibacillus casei R0215
- Bifidobacterium longum BB536
- Lactiplantibacillus plantarum R1012
- Bifidobacterium breve R0070
- Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis R1058
Each strain has been scientifically validated and given a strain name. Due to the enteric coating of the capsules and the blister packaging , the capsules can easily be stored at room temperature and do not need to be kept in the refrigerator . This also makes them an ideal travel companion.
The capsules are gluten-free, have not been genetically modified and are suitable for vegetarians .
What are probiotics?
Probiotics means "for life". Probiotics include products that contain viable microorganisms that are beneficial to humans, such as lactic acid bacteria or probiotic yeasts, which include Saccharomyces boulardii , for example. Probiotic bacteria can also be found in foods such as sauerkraut, cheese and yoghurts. They colonize the intestines and form the so-called intestinal flora[1].
