What is Ginkgo Biloba?
The ginkgo tree with its typical two-lobed leaves is native to East Asia, but is now also widespread in Europe and North America. The highly recognizable tree is a dioecious tree, which means that ginkgo trees bear either female ginkgo flowers or male ginkgo flowers .
Ginkgo extracts are mainly obtained from the ginkgo leaves. These are rich in flavonoids, diterpene lactones, bilobalide and ginkgolic acids[1].
What is Eleuthero?
Eleutherococcus senticosusis the botanical name of the Eleuthero bristly taiga root, also known as taiga root or Siberian ginseng. As the name suggests, Siberian ginseng is mainly native to eastern Siberia (taiga).The area extends from Japan via South Korea to northern China.
Only the underground parts of the plant are used in Now Foods Double Strength Ginkgo Biloba , i.e. the taiga root, which is consumed either as a dry extract in capsules or tablets or as a tea[2].
