What is Rhodiola Rosea?
Rhodiola Rose a is a plant species from the Rhodiola genus and is known in German-speaking countries as rose root . The Rhodiola plant is a member of the Rhodiola family[1] and grows in the arctic and alpine regions of Europe, Asia and America.[2 ] The cut root of Rhodiola Rosea smells of roses and gives the plant its name.
What are the effects of Rhodiola rosea?
The root of Rhodiola is full of salidroside and rosavin, flavonoids, proanthocyanidins and terpenoids. [3 ] Rhodiola has been used for many years in many cultures, including the ancient Greeks. Rhodiola is an adaptogen.
