What is Royal Jelly?
Royal jelly, also known as royal j elly or queen bee jelly, is, as the name suggests, the food juice for the queen bee. It is a mixture of pollen and honey that is produced in two glands of the worker bees . Only the bee larvae receive this juice in the first three months of their growth.
The ingredients are a unique mixture of flavonoids, phenols, the fatty acid 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HDA), vitamins and trace elements. It also contains carbohydrates, fat, proteins and amino acids[1].
